At approximately 7:17 p.m. (Sunday, March 25th), Vanderburgh County Sheriff'd Deputies were dispatched to State Road 57 and Boonville-New Harmony Rd in reference to a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, it was determined that there were two vehicles involved in the crash. The involved vehicles, a sliver 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by Terry Scott Culiver (50 years of age, Evansville) and a black 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle drive by Oscar Dallas Fingers (67 years of age, Evansville).
The deputies investigation determined that the Toyota was westbound on Boonville-New Harmony Rd and the motorcycle was southbound on State Road 57. The intersection is controlled by flashing red lights and stop signs with traffic on State Road 57 having the right of way. The Toyota proceeded through the intersection in front of the oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the right rear corner of the Toyota. The impact caused the motorcycle to lie over onto it's side and ejected the driver from it.
Fingers was transported to St. Mary's Hospital by Lifeflight. Fingers sustained multiple injuries including a head injury. Fingers was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Culiver sustained no injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor.
