Work on the intersection at Green River Road and Lincoln Avenue was completed more than two months ahead of schedule and within budget. The project, which cost nearly $1.4 million, was slated for completion by November 17, 2012. Evansville-based JBI Construction, Inc., was able to finish the work on September 7, 2012.
City Engineer Pat Keepes outlines some highlight of the road project:
1) Work on the final contract items was completed by Evansville based JBI Construction, Inc. on September 7, 2012, over 2 months ahead of the November 17th , 2012 contract completion date
2) The $1,385,043.69 project was a 100% federally funded Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) project designed to reduce vehicular emissions and improve the overall efficiency and safety of the intersection. The improvements included:
