Vincennes, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will fully staff all units in Southwest Indiana ahead of snow expected to begin this evening.
The Vincennes District will have trucks patroling the roadways and all trucks and drivers are ready to go as the first flakes fly. Nearly 150 trucks will be on roadways throughout the district to provide the highest level of service. This shift of drivers will begin plowing and salting interstates, U.S. highways and state routes with back up drivers ready to take over after a 12 hour shift. INDOT will continue to monitor forecasts and developing conditions and adjust plans and schedules if needed.
Drivers should know weather and road conditions before leaving Friday night and Saturday morning. INDOT encourages motorists to leave early to safely reach destinations before the snow begins.
