Evansville Jr Football League - Victim of Burglary-non residential at 901 S Barker Ave Evansville ,IN between 16:00 03/29/2012 and 16:00 04/02/2012. Reported 04/02/2012.
Officer was dispatched to the Evansville Jr Football League grounds (901 S Barker) in reference to a burglary report. On scene the officer spoke with the reporter who takes care of the grounds. The reporter stated he was on the grounds on March 29 sometime during the afternoon so he could mow the property. Reporter stated there was nothing wrong with any of the yard barns at that time. The reporter came back on today's date at 1600 hours and noticed the white yard barn (made of concrete blocks) on the southwest corner of the property had been broken into. The barn has a steel gate in front of the garage door. The steel gate is bolted through the concrete wall and secured on the inside of the barn. The steel gate is secured on the outside by a chain and a heavy duty lock that prevents bolt cutters from being used on the lock. The chain and lock appeared they had been beaten with a pounding type tool to no avail. The concrete block where the gate is bolted to was broken and chipped away, but the gate was still attached. The reporter believes someone pried the gate out far enough to climb over the top and then open the garage door. Nothing of major value was taken. However, the reporter did report approximately 10 older football yard markers were stolen. This garage houses all of the mowing equipment and gasoline for the property, but nothing else was taken. The reporter did not have any possible suspects. He wanted to report due to this being the third time the property has been broken into.
