Wilson, Dalton - Arrest on charge of False Informing/Reporting at 198 SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd/Walnut St......Society - Victim of False Informing/Reporting at 198 SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd/Walnut St Evansville, IN on 06/26/2012, 00:14.
I observed a sliver passenger vehicle disregard a traffic control device at the intersection of SE 6th and Walnut. I initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and Walnut. The driver, later identified as Dalton Wilson, stated that he did not have his drivers license on him. He told me his name was Drake Wilson and advised me that the vehicle he was driving was his brother's Dalton and he was in the military. I returned to my patrol vehicle and ran the information that he had given me and verified his driver status. I then ran the license plate on the vehicle and was advised that Dalton Wilson had an active felony warrant out of Newton County. At that time, Officer Fair asked the driver where his brother is, and Wilson said that his brother is in jail up north. At that time officers made several calls and attempts to verify this information and were finally advised that Dalton Wilson was not in jail. Wilson told officers to call his mother and she would verify that he was Drake Wilson. Officer Fair called the parents of the subject we had stopped and the mother advised officers that the subject we had was in fact Dalton Wilson. The mother advised us that Drake Wilson was in the military and stationed at Fort Campbell. At that time Wilson was placed in custody for False Informing and the felony warrant out of Newton County. While officerw were doing an invetory of Wilson's vehicle prior to towing, they located an Indiana driver license for Dalto Wilson. Wilson admitted to officers that he had thought about telling us the truth about who he was, but was hoping that we would eentually give up and leave.
