"While working security at EVSC at Reitz High School, I was flagged down about a student smoking in the girl's bathroom located in the hall by the large gym. I was met by a female student teacher who stated a male was in the bathroom stall smoking. The student teacher verifed there were no females in the bathroom and I entered. As I entered the bathroom, I smelled a 'sweet, flavored' smoke in the air. I located the suspect, later identifed as Brice Cannon, inside the first stall. Cannon opened the stall door after flushing the toilet. I noticed what appeared to be a green leafy substance being flushed as Cannon opened the door. I asked Cannon what he was doing in the girls bathroom and he stated, 'I'm suspended and needed to use the bathroom.' I asked for his ID and verified that he was currently suspended. Cannon stated, ' Yes, I'm sorry. How much trouble am I in?' I told Cannon to turn around and placed him into custody for Trespassing. I then notified Reitz Assistant Principal Jason Adams and escorted Cannon to the Guidance Office. Once in the office I conducted a search of Cannon subsequent to arrest. I discovered a red and silver pipe in his right front shorts pocket. There was a burnt residue on the pipe that tested negative for THS. I also found a blue plastic container labeled "Candyman' in Cannon's left front jeans pocket. I am familiar with 'Candyman' as being a popular brand name for an incense commonly referred to as K-2 or spice. Adams noticed the items I found on Cannon and asked Cannon if he had used the pipe to smoke the K-2 in the bathroom when I found him and Cannon stated, 'Yes.' It was determined that Cannon had been suspended approximately an hour before my contact with him. I was unable to be determined whether Cannon actually left school after being told and trespassed by returning to smoke in the bathroom. Cannon was issued a citation for admitting to Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of Synthetic Cannabanoids."
