Society - Victim of Criminal Recklessness at 2178 E Morgan Ave Evansville, IN between 18:19 05/13/2012 and 18:22 05/13/2012.
Officers were driving a fully marked squad car north on Oak Hill Rd approaching Trail Drive. A silver Jeep Grand Cherokee with a white, blonde female operator wearing dark glassed entered our lane of travel. The Jeep had passed a vehicle at a high rate of speed in a marked no passing zone. The Jeep was fleeing from a hit and run accident involving a mailbox in the 3400 block of Oak Hill Rd. Officers had to apply the brakes and come to a complete stop to avoid a high speed head on collision. The silver Jeep continued north at a very high rate of speed. Officers pursued and stopped the vehicle as the driver was attempting to hide in the parking lot of Camelot Jewelers at 2178 E Morgan Ave. The female operator was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Resist Law Enforcement, Criminal Recklessness, OMVWI - B.A.C. .15% or more, Traffic - Reckless Driving and Traffic - Accident Hit & Run / Fixed Object.
Taco Bell Willow - Victim of Theft Other >200 <100,000 at 1500 N Willow Rd Evansville, IN between 04:40 05/13/2012 and 05:00 05/13/2012.
I was dispatched to 1500 N Willow Rd in reference to a theft report. The reporter said at approximately 0440 hours, employees went out to the main dining area to take a break before closing the store at 0500 hours. The reporter turned back to counter area and noticed the drive thru cash drawer was open. He went to look at the security video and observed a white male wearing long black sleeves open the drive thru window, reach in and access the cash drawer. The suspect took the money and put the cash drawer back. The video did not show whether or not the suspect was in a vehicle or was on foot. The reporter stated he believed the suspect was a former employee because they knew how to open the cash drawer. He said only an employee would know how to open it. The suspect had been fired from the business about a week ago for not showing up to work. The reporter did not know how to enlarge the video feed, but it appeared the suspect had a tattoo on his right wrist and hand. He said this looked similar to the tattoos of the ex-employee he believes is responsible for the theft.
Shrodes, Jaakee Lee - Victim of Robbery-armed w/ knife at 599 SE Second St/Mulberry St Evansville, IN between 18:50 05/13/2012 and 18:55 05/13/2012.
Officers were dispatched to 916 SE Second in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim, which stated two males tried to rob him. The victim stated he was walking in the 600 block of SE Second in an alley just west of SE Second. The victim then stated that as he was walking north in the alley, the two males demanded his wallet. When the victim said no, he said that one of the males hit him with a rock. The victim said that after being hit with the rock, one male pulled a razor blade and began swinging it at him. The victim said that him and the guy with the razor blade began to fight. The victim said that he was cut several times with the razor blade. The victim said that the offender was able to get his wallet and took his Ivy Tech Debit Car. After the offenders took the debit card, they took off running south in the alley. Officers set up a perimeter but were unable to locate a suspect. The victim had several scratches on his chest at the time of this report.
Society - Victim of Battery-law enforcement at 2350 E Division St Evansville, IN between 23:28 05/13/2012 and 23:40 05/13/2012.
While on routine patrol, I noticed a vehicle with the door open in the lot of Kipplee's at the above location. I went inside and identified the driver. After trying to explain to her about her vheicle, the suspect became belligerent and abusive. As I was attempting to cuff the suspect, she turned away and attempted to walk away from me. After being cuffed, the suspect continued to resist and kicked me in the head as I was trying to put her in a sitting position.
Collins, Donna Jean - Victim of Scooter Crash at 3700 Washington Ave Evansville, IN between 00:11 05/14/2012 and 00:12 05/14/2012.
Officers dispatched to 3700 Washington Ave reference a crash. Officers arrived on scene and observed a small 49cc scooter had struck a metal pole located on the sidewalk on the north side of the road. The driver was westbound on Washington when she left the roadway and struck the pole. The driver was thrown from the scooter and landed in the grass approx 10 feet from the scooter. AMR and EFD arrived on scene and treated her for her injuries. She had complaint of pain. She was transported to St. Mary's E-R for treatment and evaluation. The scooter had an Evansville bicycle sticker on back. The scooter was towed to Tri-State. There was no insurance on the scooter.
